John J. Branigan

Attorney

I have been practicing law since 1977; 45 years as of this writing. Along the way, I have met many wonderful and interesting people, I have brought justice to many hundreds of deserving clients, and I have been admitted to the practice of law at every level of court from the local municipal court to the Supreme Court of the United States. Along the way, I have learned that no matter the similarities that are seen in most cases, it is the uniqueness of each client that drives the case. My job is finding that uniqueness and presenting that to the jury so that their verdict reflects an understanding of the struggles experienced by that individual client. This approach has resulted in many extraordinary verdicts on behalf of my clients. Large verdicts are special in their own right, but more importantly, they return a level of dignity to the client and dignity is important in that it recognizes the struggles each individual battles to overcome a serious injury. There is also a personal satisfaction in making the insurance company finally pay for the damages caused by the negligence, carelessness, and recklessness of their insured client.

It wasn’t long after I was admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania that I joined the Support Center for Child Advocates as a volunteer attorney representing children suffering at the hands of their guardians and at times their own parents.

I remain an active volunteer in this great organization.

By way of personal background, I am very proud to have been born, raised, and educated for the most part in Philadelphia.  I am married with two grown boys, one of whom has graced me with a very active grandson. My friends call me “Old School”, my boxing Nom De Guerre, and I still shoot a pretty good game of pool.

Philadelphia has a well-deserved reputation for top-notch trial lawyers, and I consider myself one of them. If you have a case, or just want to talk about a case, call me.
